The Poetry of Alex Gildzen
Watching Sean Patrick Sleep
every 30 seconds he flashes on my monitor
like a Muybridge series
or a Warhol film stuck in the projector
guilty as Jimmy Stewart in "Rear Window"
I observe a liftd leg
a hand jerk to cover crotch
I examine folds in the blue sheet
that covers him
like an art historian studying Zurbaran
this is hypnotism by design
as I loose sleep
watching a stranger sleep

Watching Rex Watch Sean Patrick
Melina's in the livingroom
so she doesn't see me
looking at another cat
who walks into the oblong
where a new blond boy
chats with the one
who startd me on
this vision quest
I flip back & forth
between sites
till my fingers tire
then go to another room
to see a moving picture
in which William McNamara
watches Bill Campbell shower

Cam Boys
Sean Patrick by candlelite
is nearly black & white
a George Hurrell classic
while Rex is blue
& much more Herb Ritts
as he touches a piercd tit
I wonder if they're still
watching each other
as I race between sites
it's saturday nite
& I'm too old for bars
but not too old to look
if Walt Whitman still
breathd in Camden
he'd be looking too

Rex sits naked
before his computer
on a sunday morning
I can only imagine
what he's writing
as I write this
but for a single
moment
our worlds are linkd

Saturday Morning
in a remote window
Rex at 8:12 pacific time
yawns & stretches
while
Puppy at 11:12 eastern time
sleeps in his Rex t-shirt
& in between
I drink a third cup of joe
& remember once
waking up
in the middle
still stiff & grinning

Soren Smiles
Rick in Toronto takes a bath
Rex in San Francisco a shower
while in Kansas City
Soren smiles
& this old owl
winks back
